Description:
The 1-Hour Asbestos/Lead Awareness course is a specialized training program designed to provide participants with an understanding of the hazards associated with asbestos and lead in the workplace. This course aims to raise awareness about the risks of exposure to these hazardous materials and educate participants on how to safely handle and work around them.
During the course, participants will learn about the health effects of asbestos and lead exposure, including respiratory issues, cancer, and other serious illnesses. They will gain knowledge of the industries and work environments where asbestos and lead are commonly found and the importance of proper precautions to prevent exposure.
The training will cover topics such as identifying asbestos and lead-containing materials, safe handling procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and the importance of proper containment and disposal methods. Participants will also learn about regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards, for working with asbestos and lead.
Language: English and Spanish.
Duration: 1 Hour.
Requirements
- Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.
Target audiences
- Required curriculum for any Worker or Supervisor employed in NYC within the Five Boroughs on projects requiring a Construction Super, Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, or Competent Person.
