1-Hour Ergonomics – Special Elective

Description:
The 1-Hour Ergonomics course is a specialized training program designed to educate participants about ergonomic principles and practices in the workplace. This course aims to increase awareness of the importance of proper ergonomics and provide participants with practical strategies to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
During the course, participants will learn about the impact of poor ergonomics on physical health, productivity, and overall well-being. They will gain knowledge of ergonomic risk factors, such as repetitive motions, awkward postures, and excessive force, and understand how these factors can contribute to MSDs.
The training will cover topics such as proper workstation setup, correct lifting and carrying techniques, and effective body mechanics. Participants will also learn about the importance of incorporating regular stretching and exercise into their daily routines to reduce the risk of strain and injury.
Language: English and Spanish.
Duration: 1 Hour.
Requirements
- Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.
Target audiences
- Required curriculum for any Worker or Supervisor employed in NYC within the Five Boroughs on projects requiring a Construction Super, Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, or Competent Person.
