Description:
The 1-Hour Protection from Sun Exposure course is a specialized training program designed to raise awareness about the risks of sun exposure and provide participants with strategies to protect themselves from harmful effects. This course focuses on educating individuals about the importance of sun safety measures in outdoor work environments.
During the course, participants will learn about the dangers of excessive sun exposure, including sunburn, skin damage, and the risk of developing skin cancer. They will gain knowledge of the different types of UV radiation and their effects on the skin.
The training will cover topics such as understanding UV index and its significance, recognizing the signs and symptoms of sunburn and heat-related illnesses, and implementing effective sun protection measures. Participants will also learn about the appropriate use of sunscreen, protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses to minimize sun damage.

Requirements
- Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.
Target audiences
- Required curriculum for any Worker or Supervisor employed in NYC within the Five Boroughs on projects requiring a Construction Super, Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, or Competent Person.
