Description:
The 1-Hour Tools Hand and Power course is a concise training program designed to provide participants with an understanding of safe practices when using hand and power tools. This course aims to increase awareness of potential hazards associated with tool use and equip participants with the knowledge and skills to work safely with tools.
During the course, participants will learn about the different types of hand and power tools commonly used in various industries. They will gain knowledge of tool selection, inspection, and maintenance to ensure their proper functioning and minimize the risk of accidents.
The training will cover topics such as proper tool handling techniques, ergonomic considerations, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with tools. Participants will also learn about the importance of a clean and organized workspace and the safe storage of tools to prevent injuries and damage.
Through a combination of instructional presentations, demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants will develop an understanding of the potential risks associated with hand and power tool use and learn practical strategies to mitigate these risks. The course will emphasize the importance of following manufacturer instructions, using tools for their intended purpose, and reporting any tool malfunctions or hazards.

Requirements
- Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.
Target audiences
- Required curriculum for any Worker or Supervisor employed in NYC within the Five Boroughs on projects requiring a Construction Super, Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, or Competent Person.
