Description:
The 1-Hour First Aid and CPR course is a concise and practical training program designed to equip participants with basic knowledge and skills in providing immediate assistance and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in emergency situations.
During the course, participants will learn essential first-aid techniques such as assessing the scene for safety, checking the victim’s responsiveness, and contacting emergency services. They will also gain knowledge of how to provide proper care for common injuries and illnesses, including bleeding control, wound care, choking response, and basic life support.
The training will cover cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults, including chest compressions and rescue breaths. Participants will also learn how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) effectively in case of cardiac arrest.
Through a combination of hands-on demonstrations, interactive discussions, and scenario-based simulations, participants will develop the confidence and skills necessary to respond appropriately during critical situations. The course will emphasize the importance of quick action, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to different emergency scenarios.

Requirements
- Local Law 196 of 2017 requires certain workers and supervisors to receive safety training at construction sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager.
Target audiences
- Required curriculum for any Worker or Supervisor employed in NYC within the Five Boroughs on projects requiring a Construction Super, Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, Concrete Safety Manager, or Competent Person.
